Guidelines for the Final Project

The purpose of the project is to demonstrate the practical application of the knowledge acquired during the course by developing a selected element related to ESG – for example, an analysis of selected components of an ESG report compliant with ESRS, or the preparation of a section of a sustainability strategy for a chosen organization.

The project should be submitted as a coherent written report (Word or PDF format).

  • Selection of topic and organization: Clearly define the scope of the project (e.g. “Emission reporting and carbon footprint analysis (Scope 1–3) in logistics company X”, “Plan for implementing a Green HR policy in a medium-sized service company Y”, “Development of a sustainable procurement procedure in the manufacturing sector (in line with ISO 20400)”, “Preparation of ESG report elements according to a selected ESRS standard in company Z”, “Double materiality analysis in company X from sector Y”, “Climate adaptation scenarios for organization Z according to ISO 14090”, “Analysis of marketing activities in accordance with ISO 14063”).
  • Identify the organization (e.g. your own company, a public institution, NGO, or international corporation). Provide justification for the topic selection and its relevance to the organization/sector.
  • Project objectives and assumptions: Clearly define the main objective and specific goals, indicating which sustainability-related problems the project aims to address or what improvements it intends to introduce.
  • Methodology and tools: Describe the research methods, tools, and data sources used in the project, referencing applicable standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 14001, EMAS, ISO 14063, ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, ESRS, ISO 14090, ISO 20400, legal requirements).
  • Results: Present the project results, including input data (observations, internal documents, public sources such as ESG reports or industry statements), analysis results (e.g. tables, charts, diagrams, schematics, benchmarks), and identification of problems, risks, or non-compliance issues.
  • Recommendations and actions: Propose improvements, corrective actions, or new initiatives, justifying the proposed solutions (in substantive, economic, environmental, and social terms).
  • Summary: Present the main conclusions and potential directions for further development or extension of the project (e.g. integration with an environmental management system, certification implementation, or preparation of a full ESG report).
